Personal Training pays our bills, but we use small group training as a way to reduce our price point and offer low cost and even free access to our experts.

Like our personal training service, we begin with a movement assessment to understand your story a little better, and to help advise you in the right ways to move safely and effectively. If small group training isn't right for you, we will recommend corrective exercises and or personal training to help you get up to speed for small group.

  • What makes small group training at Balance Fitness and Wellness different from traditional group fitness classes?

Our small group training programs are highly specialized and designed to meet the needs of specific populations, including individuals living with multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome, and older adults focused on healthy aging. Each class is led by experienced coaches who provide personalized guidance in a supportive group setting.

  • How many people participate in each small group training session?

To ensure individualized attention and a safe training environment, our small group sessions are limited to six participants. This allows coaches to monitor movement quality, provide modifications, and support each participant's unique needs.

  • Do I need an assessment before joining a small group?

Yes. We begin with a movement assessment to better understand your fitness level, movement patterns, goals, and any limitations. This helps us determine which group is the best fit for you and ensures you can participate safely and effectively.

  • What if I'm not ready for small group training?

If our assessment indicates that small group training is not the best starting point, we'll recommend corrective exercises, personal training, or other services to help you build the strength, mobility, and confidence needed to participate successfully.

  • What types of small group training programs do you offer?

Our current offerings include Strength and Conditioning, Silver and Fit for active older adults, and Stronger Than MS for individuals living with multiple sclerosis. Programs may evolve over time based on community needs and participant interest.

  • Is small group training appropriate for beginners?

Yes. Many participants are new to structured exercise or returning after a long break. Our coaches provide modifications and progressions to help each individual work at a level that is appropriate for their abilities and goals.

  • How does small group training compare to personal training?

Small group training offers many of the benefits of professional coaching at a lower cost than one-on-one personal training. Participants receive expert instruction, accountability, and individualized support while benefiting from the motivation and camaraderie of a group environment.

  • Can small group training help improve strength, balance, and mobility?

Absolutely. Our programs are designed to improve functional fitness, including strength, balance, endurance, mobility, coordination, and confidence in everyday movement. Exercises are tailored to the needs of each group and participant.

  • What is the Stronger Than MS program?

Stronger Than MS is a specialized small group training program designed for individuals living with multiple sclerosis. Sessions focus on maintaining and improving strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and overall quality of life through safe, evidence-informed exercise.

  • Why does Balance Fitness and Wellness offer small group training?

Small group training allows us to make expert coaching more accessible to our community. While personal training remains our most individualized service, small groups help reduce costs and provide affordable—and in some cases free—access to professional fitness guidance and support.
